Pool Palace at Palais Namaskar |
This is exactly what I thought when I got my first glimpse of the pool palace at Africa's number one hotel, Palais Namaskar.
Morning Swim |
I was originally meant to go on this trip with my boyfriend but very unfortunately some issues at work got in the way and he couldn't make it. Thankfully all the bookings didn't go to waste as my lovely friend Prima who also happens to live right next door, came to the rescue and a few hours later we jetted off for a girly holiday to Marrakech!
From the moment we landed in Marrakech Prima and I felt like celebs as waiting for us was Yusef, our immaculately dressed driver, and a super slick black mercedes with tinted windows and wifi.

Yusef even stopped traffic to take a photo of us! |
Just as a side note, to keep things interesting I thought I would start including more fashion related content on Liakada, as you can see in the photo my plane gear isn't exactly catwalk worthy but for comfortable travel I would recommend Massimo Dutti jeans and Tod's to anyone.

TOD'S |
Palais Namaskar is a luxurious retreat hotel located a 20 minute drive outside Marrakech with views of the Atlas Mountains. We arrived rather late at night so we saved our exploring for the next day and instead ventured straight down to dinner.

No Mad Bar at Palais Namaskar |
The restaurant at Palais Namaskar overlooks the pool palace and with dimly lit candles and soft lounge music in the background the vibe is ultra-relaxed.
Though not to confuse you, when I say 'relaxed' I don't mean relaxed as in lets wear flip-flops and ripped denim shorts, it's more peaceful but in a very classy way... would hate to mislead you all and have you turn up in sweats (worst nightmare!).
For starters I ordered foie gras which came with some of the most divine bread, no matter what I did I just couldn't stop myself eating it!

Foie Gras |
Prima went for the Moroccan tasting menu which included a selection of starters, of course I nibbled on them too and they were superb.
Selection of Moroccan Starters |
Next came a traditional Moroccan dish called Pastilla or Bisteeya which is essentially a meat pie. You can have all different kinds of meat but this one came with chicken and the filo pastry around it was sweet with a cinnamon flavour.
Chicken Pastilla |
After eating all the bread and half of Prima's food I was so stuffed by the time the main came... terrible mistake!
For the main I had a lobster linguine with a lovely light and bubbly sauce.
Lobster Linguine |
Prima's main was a Sea Bass Tajine.

The next morning I took advantage of the light to take a proper snoop around the room.
Every thing about Palais Namaskar whispers zen which I love, I am the biggest fan of zen though the only thing to bear in mind is zen means there are very few lights in the room so don't plan on rooting through your bag at night trying to find your hairbrush!
Just let it be tangled, be wild, young, and free.... and zen obviously.
Prima and I really lucked out, our suite was incredible! We had TWO balconies!! One overlooking the Atlas mountains... perfect spot for morning coffee.
Balcony 1 |
The other had a HOT TUB.... Can you sense my excitement?!
Balcony 2 |
After breakfast... yes we eat a lot, I know!
We only had the fruit of course, no croissants.. never |
We decided to take some serious exercise.
Paddling is exercise |
Of course I then had to send a few essential snaps to people I knew were in work.. mwahaha.
Then we actually did go for a stroll.

Prima in her element |
The grounds at Palais Namaskar are so incredibly beautiful. It is impossible not to embrace the wonderful calm that all the greenery and water gives off.

Gardens at Palais Namaskar |
It was perfect zen-spiration for my Instagram poses.
"Walk as if you are kissing the earth with your feet" |
To round off our day of lounging and feasting we arranged to have the hot tub filled as we reckoned it would be the perfect spot for some pre-dinner cocktails.

The product placement is noteworthy... hire me Moet |
The jacuzzi was set up as more of a bubble bath, a Bvlgari bubble bath with rose petals because as new Moroccan royalty we couldn't have it any other way ;)
All the roses and bubbles were fantastic but a tad too romantic for our friendship so to change the vibe a bit we made sure to blast some hip hop!
Nothing better than a little bit of Drake... "started from the bottom"
Bliss! In fact I liked Palais Namaskar so much that I entered a competition to win a trip there... Pick me Conde Naste, pick me!
Of course it wouldn't be complete without a Vlog

It was delicious :) I was just so full at that point that I couldn't eat that much of it, pasta probably wasn't the best choice for late at night.
